Information regarding Nexovar

Nexovar is the trade name for sorafenib.  It’s antiangiogenic therapy, which means that it keeps the blood vessels from growing that the tumor needs to survive.  As I remember, it showed up in some of the initial research that we did as a promising therapy (i.e. some people were having luck with it).  Not sure if it is considered a “standard chemo.”  It was initially developed for kidney cancer.  The paper that I read also said that it inhibits/blocks growth factors.  Here is a link to a chemocare page about sorafenib which may contain good info about other drugs.
